1 In finem. Psalmus David.
2 In Domino confido ; quomodo dicitis animæ meæ : Transmigra in montem sicut passer ?
3 Quoniam ecce peccatores intenderunt arcum ; paraverunt sagittas suas in pharetra, ut sagittent in obscuro rectos corde :
4 quoniam quæ perfecisti destruxerunt ; justus autem, quid fecit ?
5 Dominus in templo sancto suo ; Dominus in cælo sedes ejus. Oculi ejus in pauperem respiciunt ; palpebræ ejus interrogant filios hominum.
6 Dominus interrogat justum et impium ; qui autem diligit iniquitatem, odit animam suam.
7 Pluet super peccatores laqueos ; ignis et sulphur, et spiritus procellarum, pars calicis eorum.
8 Quoniam justus Dominus, et justitias dilexit : æquitatem vidit vultus ejus.

1 In the Lord put I my trust : how say ye then to my soul, that she should flee as a bird unto the hill?
2 For lo, the ungodly bend their bow, and make ready their arrows within the quiver : that they may privily shoot at them which are true of heart.
3 For the foundations will be cast down : and what hath the righteous done?
4 The Lord is in his holy temple : the Lord's seat is in heaven.
5 His eyes consider the poor : and his eye-lids try the children of men.
6 The Lord alloweth the righteous : but the ungodly, and him that delighteth in wickedness, doth his soul abhor.
7 Upon the ungodly he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, storm and tempest : this shall be their portion to drink.
8 For the righteous Lord loveth righteousness : his countenance will behold the thing that is just.

Az Úrban bízom; hogyan mondjátok lelkemnek: Költözzél a hegyre, mint a veréb?
Mert íme a bűnösök megvonták a kézíjat, elkészítették nyilaikat a tegezben, hogy lövöldözzék titkon az igaz szivűeket;
mert a miket te állítottál, elbontották; de az igaz mit cselekedett?
Az Úr az ő szent templomában, az Úr széke mennyben vagyon; szemei a szegényre néznek, és szempillái vizsgálják az emberek fiait.
Az Úr megvizsgálja az igazat és az istentelent; ki pedig a gonoszságot szereti, lelkét gyülöli.
A bűnösökre tőröket hullat; tűz és kénkő és viharok szele az ő kelyhök része.
Mert az Úr igaz, és igazságot szeret, és igazra néz az ő orczája.
