Italian text Lasciatemi mirar, donna, il bel viso E non me lo vogliate a me celare Che il tempo il può cangiare. Mirate i vaghi fior di primavera Come nel nascer son tanto graditi E in breve son smarriti. Voi donna siete un fior di primavera permettereste mai che si scolori senza ch'alcun l'odori?

English translation Let me behold, oh lady, the beautiful face And don't hide it to me As time may change it. Look at the spring flowers How they are loved when they appear And how in short they are lost. You lady are a spring flower Would you ever let it discolour Before someone could smell it?
