Latin text Tristis est anima mea usque ad mortem: sustinete hic et vigilate mecum. Nunc[Iam] videbitis turbam quæ circumdabit me. Vos fugam capietis, et ego vadam immolari pro vobis. Versus: Ecce appropinquat hora, et Filius hominis tradetur in manus peccatorum. German translation Translation by Kurt Pages Traurig ist meine Seele bis an den Tod: harrt hier aus und wacht mit mir. Nun werdet ihr die Menge sehen, die mich umgeben wird. Ihr werdet die Flucht ergreifen, und ich werde gehen, um für euch geopfert zu werden. Vers: Siehe, es naht die Stunde, und des Menschen Sohn wird übergeben werden in die Hände der Sünder. Dutch translation Mijn ziel is dodelijk bedroefd: blijf hier met mij waken. Weldra zullen jullie de menigte zien die mij zal omringen: Jullie zullen op de vlucht slaan en ik zal mijzelf gaan offeren voor jullie. English translation Sorrowful is my soul even unto death. Stay here, and watch with me. Now you shall see the mob that will surround me. You shall take flight, and I shall go to be sacrificed for you. Verse: The time draws near, and the Son of Man shall be delivered into the hands of sinners. German translation Meine Seele ist betrübt bis an den Tod. Bleibt hier und wacht mit mir. Nun werdet ihr die Menge sehen, die mich umgeben wird.
