Biography

William E. Moore was born in Wheeling, Indiana. He and his brothers attended numerous singing schools throughout the region in their youth. For many years he was a music teacher in the Carroll County schools and operated a barbershop in Wheeling. He composed some songs for schools and, with his brothers Addison, Charles, Marcellus, all music teachers, wrote the music book The Regulus. He died in Wheeling.
