Deus qui sedes super thronum et judicas in aequitate,
esto refugium pauperum in tribulatione,
quia tu solus laborem et dolorem consideras.

Tibi enim derelictus est pauper, pupillo tu eris adjutor,
quia tu solus laborem et dolorem consideras.

German translation

Gott, der Du auf dem Thron sitzt und mit Gerechtigkeit richtest,
sei Zuflucht der Armen in Bedrängnis,
denn Du allein schaust auf ihre Mühe und ihren Schmerz.
Für Dich nämlich ist der Arme zurückgelassen, Du wirst dem Waisenkind Helfer,
denn Du allein schaust auf ihre Mühe und ihren Schmerz.

English translation

God, who sittest upon the throne and judgest in equity,
be the stronghold of the poor in time of trouble,
for thou alone beholdest their toil and misery.

The poor are left behind for thee to succour; thou willst help the orphan,
for thou alone beholdest their toil and misery.
