Biography
Composer and tenor, probably born in the South Netherlands. He sang at the church of St Nicolas in Brussels from 1485 to 1488 and taught choirboys there in 1486-87. By 1492, he had joined the Ste Chapelle in Paris but soon moved to Padua, where he briefly served as maestro di cappella at the cathedral. From 1493 to 1507, he was a member of the papal chapel in Rome, with a short return to Padua in 1498. In 1504, he became a non-resident canon of Cambrai Cathedral. He joined a Marian confraternity in St Jan’s-Hertogenbosch in 1506–7 before returning to Rome. From 1509 until his death (apart from travels and a brief appointment in Loreto), he remained in Cambrai. He died in 1526, having left funds to restore the altar of St Anne's chapel in Cambrai Cathedral.
