Biography
William Letton Viner was born in Bath
, and held the post of organist at St Michael's
there from c1810 to 1835. During this time, he established himself as a keyboard teacher, and contributed two psalm tunes to Richard Garbett's Sacred Harmony (1818), to which he subscribed.
In 1835, he moved to Penzance
, where he was organist of St. Mary's from 1835 to 1839.
He emigrated to the United States in 1859, and died in Westfield, Massachusetts
in 1867: a number of his works, published and manuscript, are held in the Sibley Music Library
