Hi! I did acctualy forget my old user name due to a pause in posting scores on CPDL & having changed computers a few times since last posting. I'll think I'll stick to the new one thoug as it is easier for me to remember (I hope).

Magnificat qvintii toni (even verses) (Duarte Lobo)

Hi Andreas, Your template for Magnificats still has "Guerrero" as composer. The Lobo editions are otherwise admirable! Dear Andreas

thanks a lot for your many contributions. When I search music for liturgical use I regularly come across your name. However, this time, I think, I found a little mistake in one of your editions: In exitu - Mixtus tonus falsibordoni (Tomás Luis de Victoria)

The first half verse after the reciting tones sounded a bit strange, so I compared it with the source:

Laudi spirituali

Hello Andreas,

You have done an amazing amount of work with these! Thank you very much. I see four pages here:

  1. Il terzo libro delle laudi spirituali – Cat: Sheet music, Music publications. Two pdf’s:
    a. CPDL 59904. “The three-part laudi spirituale”. Nos. 1-12 and 14-23 (22 laudi) of this publication; renumbered 1-22 in the pdf. Spelling differences between the pdf and the list on the page.
    b. CPDL 70919. “All the four-part laudi”. Nos. 24-35 (12 laudi) of this publication; renumbered 23-33 in the pdf, subsuming no. 31 of the page list to “Seconda parte” of no. 30. Spelling differences between the pdf and the list on the page.
    No. 13 (Figlio dicea del sommo eterno patre) doesn’t appear in either of these, it seems.
  2. Il terzo libro delle laudi spirituali a 4 (Anonymous). Cat: Sheet music. One pdf, CPDL 70919, duplicate of 1b above.
  3. 25 three-part Laudi Spirituale (Various) – Cat: Sheet music. Redirect from “25 three-part Laudi Spirituale”. One pdf, CPDL 47847. “This is the 25 first songs from a very large collection of Laudi Spirituale, Tempio armonico della Beatissima Vergine, printed in Rome by Nicola Muti in 1599.” Numbered 1-6, 7.1-7.9, 8-17.
  4. Tempio armonico – Cat: Music publications. No music files. Some of these have work pages of their own. The list of works correlates the first 25 with works on page 3 above.

In my opinion, page 2 should be deleted, since the pdf and description already appear in page 1. Page 1 needs some cleanup work. To make this more consistent, page 3 should be added to page 4. Page 3’s title is ambiguous, and composer is not “Anonymous”. Redirect page should be deleted. What do you think? I renumbered the list on the page Il terzo libro delle laudi spirituali to match the numbering on your pdf's, and made page 2 into a redirect. Marbrianus de Orto / Lamentations -Edition

Dear Andreas

thanks for the edition of Marbrianus de Orto's setting of the Lamentations. I was working on the same piece, with Lilypond as well, but you were faster than me... I would like to use your files to transpose the piece a bit. Unfortunately - if I see it correctly - the source files are exchanged, the mensural notation edition source file is called "-Practical.ly", but in fact both files are the same. and thanks again for your efforts! Unfortunately for me everything seems unchanged. Although I see that a new version of the file was added on 30th of May, a diff check still tells me it's the same as the other version. Or just as a quick check: https://www.cpdl.org/wiki/images/4/46/Marbrianus-de-Orto-Lamentatio-Ieremiae-Practical.ly still contains breves, longas and petrucci clefs, which shouldn't be the case for the practical edition. The critical thing is the \shiftdurations #2 #0 command, which reduces the note values to a 1/4 of the original note value when running the source file. The parts in the source files where the voices are put are largely, though not necessarily entirely, identical between the diplomatic score and the practical score files. The score blocks are different and govern the output. (It would, actually, be possible to make both editions in one source file where the music is fed only once, and where there is two different score blocks. The places where the diplomatic and the practical music input would need to be different could be fixed with tags and \keepWithTag and \ removeWithTag commands. My workflow just works better with two largely similar source files where the main differences are in the score blocks.)

So the Marbrianus-de-Orto-Lamentatio-Ieremiae-Practical.ly file would produce the Practical score when run through Lilypond.

The easiest way to transpose the practical score to another key would be to add a "\transpose" command in the score block after the "\shiftDurations" command.

If I wanted to transpose the piece one third upwards, the score block would have to be modified thus:

As each section in the Lamentatatio is a separate feed which have its own score block, this would have to be done in each of the score blocks in the file.

Hi! This starts to get a bit confusing. When I click your link, the file which opens has the "\shiftDurations" commands in the scoreblocks. When I copy and run that file in lilypond the resulting document is the practical score. The same if I click, copy and run the practical score file link on the works page.
