Edition notes: A semi-diplomatic edition based on the 1586 Diletto Spirituale print. The singing voices are provided both as an untransposed score and as a score transposed down a fourth to accommodate a performance with the Cembalo or lute intavolations. The Gravicembalo and lute intavolations of the printed source are also provided the later both in the original Italian tablature and in french lute tablature.

Latin text 25  Tunc amplexus, tunc oscula Quae vincunt mellis pocula. Tunc felix Christi copula Sed in his parva morula. 26  Tam quod quaesivi video: Quod concupivi teneo: Amore Jesu langueo, Et corde totus ardeo.

English translation 25  Then embraces, then kisses, that are more powerful than cups of honey. Then a happy union with Christ after a short while. 26  There is what I have searched for: There what I have desired to hold: I am sick for the love of Jesus, And my whole heart burns.
