French text Si long travail merite recompence Ie mattens bien soudainement avoys De mes malheurs une grand allegeance Pour satisfaire a mon loyal vouloyr Que longtemps a ne cesse de douloir En attendant lheure qui tost me viendra Ainsi espoir qui tout bien faictz scavoyr Retourne a moy mon malheur se passera.

French text  modernised Si long travail mérite récompense; Je m'attends bien soudainement avoir De mes malheurs une grande allégeance, Pour satisfaire à mon loyal vouloir, Que longtemps a ne cesse de douloir; En attendant l'heure qui tôt me viendra. Ainsi espoir, qui tout bienfaits savait, Retourne à moi; mon malheur se passera.

English translation Such long toil deserves reward, I'm expecting immediate Redress for my wrongs, To satisfy my earnest wish, Which hasn't ceased from hurt in a long time; Awaiting that imminent outcome eagerly.
