Latin text Quid prodest stulto divitias habere cum sapientiam emere non possit? Qui altum facit domum suam quaerit ruinam. Vanitas vanitatum et omnia vanitas. Et qui evitat discere incidit in malum Vanitas vanitatum et omnia vanitas. Qui perversi cordis est non invenit bonum. Vanitas vanitatum et omnia vanitas.

English translation Little the fool's wealth avails; he may not buy wisdom if he would. Build high, and court thy ruin. Vanity of vanities: and all is vanity. Despise learning, and thou shalt come to mischief. Vanity of vanities: and all is vanity. False heart never found happiness. Vanity of vanities: and all is vanity.
