Italian text Questo vostro fuggire crudel, mi fa morire, e voi che 'l conoscete da me fuggendo ognor più m'ancidete. E s'io pur mi ritiro, per non offender voi quand'io vi miro, sento struggermi il core: così m'ancide in ogni guisa Amore.

English translation This fleeing of yours, cruel one, makes me die, and you, who knows it, in always fleeing from me, slay me the more. And if even if I retreat, so to not offend you when I behold you, feel my heart consumed: so that in every way, Love slays me. Translation by Allen Garvin
