Italian text Perché di pioggia il ciel non si distille e la riva del Tebro tanto inondi, che lascino le Ninfe vezzosette di coglier verdi frondi e mille erbette con odorati fiori per tesser ghirlandette a gli amati Pastori, fa biondo Apol che’l tuo splendor ritorni a far seren’i giorni.

English translation So that the sky does not distill itself into rain and the bank of the Tiber does not so flood, so as to let the most charming Nymphs pick green fronds and a thousands herbs with frant flowers, for to weave garlands for the beloved Shepherds, O blonde Apollo, let your splendor return to make the days serene.
