English text
O Summer wind that farest south,
Speed on by brake and billow,
Bear hence a kiss to my love’s mouth,
And breathe upon her pillow.
Hide in the mazes of her hair,
Whereon the sunlight flashes,
Play gently o’er her forehead fair,
And lift her dreaming lashes.
The lilies wake across the lake,
The eyes of morn are peeping;
O Summer wind, awake, awake,
The while my love lies sleeping.
O kiss her once and kiss her twice,
And bear this greeting duly;
Until my heart be lapt in ice,
I’ll love her truly, truly.
