Lucis Creator optime
Lucis Creator optime is the Office hymn traditionally sung at Sunday Vespers between Epiphany and Lent and following Pentecost. The latest revision of the Liturgy of the Hours (Liturgia Horarum, 1985) assigns it to the 1st and 3rd weeks of the psalter during Ordinary Time.
The meter is 88. 88 (L.M.). LU gives 2 mode viii tunes (the 1st assigned by the 1934 Antiphonale to summertime) and a 3rd in mode i, while the Antiphonale gives a 'winter' tune in mode iv.
