Text and translations

Latin text Justorum animae in manu Dei sunt, et non tanget illos tormentum mortis. Visi sunt oculis insipientium mori, illi autem sunt in pace. French text Les âmes des justes sont dans la main de Dieu ; aucun tourment n’a de prise sur eux. Aux yeux de l’insensé, ils ont paru mourir mais ils sont dans la paix.

English translation The souls of the just are in the hand of God, and the torment of death shall not touch them. In the sight of the unwise they seemed to die; but they are in peace. Translation by Douay-Rheims American Edition 1899

German translation Der Gerechten Seelen sind in Gottes Hand, und nicht rührt sie die Qual des Todes. Sie scheinen den Augen der Törichten gestorben, doch sie ruhen in Frieden.

Hungarian translation Az igazak lelkei Isten kezében vannak, s a halál kínja nem éri őket. Úgy látszott a balgák szemében, hogy meghaltak, ők azonban békességben vannak.
