Biography
Monsignor Joannes Anthonius Stefanus van Schaik, known as J.A.S. van Schaik (Utrecht, December 3, 1862 – Culemborg, June 14, 1927), was a Dutch Roman Catholic priest and composer.
He was known at the time to be open to modern approaches to sacred music; however, his music is permeated with the influences of Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina.
