Johann Friedrich Doles

Life

Born: 23 April 1715

Died: 8 February 1797

Biography: Doles was Thomaskantor from 1756 to 1789, the second holder of this position after J.S Bach. In 1789, the performance of Bach's motet "Singet dem Herrn" by the Thomanerchor under his direction made a deep impression on Mozart.
