Latin text Introduxit me rex in cellam vinariam ordinavit in me charitatem. Fulcite me floribus, stipate me malis quia amore langueo. Adjuro vos, filiæ Jerusalem, si inveneritis dilectum meum, dicite ei quia amore langueo.

English translation He [the king] brought me into the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love. Stay me with flagons, comfort me with apples: because I am sick of love. I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, if ye find my beloved, that ye tell him, that I am sick of love.
