Latin.png Latin text

Haec est dies quam fecit Dominus.
Hodie Dominus afflictionem populi sui respexit,
et redemptionem misit.
Hodie mortem quam femina intulit, femine semen fugavit.

Hodie Deus homo factus,
id quod fuit permansit, et quod non erat assumpsit,

Ergo exordium nostrae redemptionis devote recolamus,
et exultemus dicentes: Gloria tibi Domine.

English.png English translation

This is the day that the Lord has made.
Today the Lord looked upon the affliction of his people,
and sent redemption.
Today death which was brought by a woman,
has been driven away by the seed of a woman.

Today God became man
He continued as that which was, and assumed that which was not.

Therefore let us devoutly recall the beginning of our redemption,
and let us rejoice, saying: Glory to thee, Lord.
