Biography

fl. 1555 - 1598. A member of a Dutch family of musicians working in Italy and Germany. He is probably the son of Franz (Francesco) Flori (i) and the brother of Franz (Francesco) Flori (ii), Jakob (Jacobus) Flori, and Georg (Giorgio) Flori. The relationship to Gregor (Gregorio) Florio is not established. He is recorded as working in L'Aquila from 1572, and he was maestro di cappella at S Maria Maggiore, Bergamo. He contributed to many important madrigal anthologies.
