Latin text 1  Dilectus meus descendit in hortum suum ad areolam aromatum ut ibi pascatur in hortis et lilia colligat. 2  Ego dilecto meo et dilectus meus mihi, qui pascitur inter lilia. German translation 1  Mein Geliebter stieg in seinen Garten hinab zum kleinen Gewürzbeet, damit er dort weide in den Gärten und Lilien sammle. 2  Ich [gehöre] meinem Geliebten und mein Geliebter mir, der zwischen Lilien weidet.

English translation 1  My beloved is gone down into his garden, to the bed of aromatical spices, to feed in the gardens, and to gather lilies. 2  I am my beloved's, and he is mine, who feedeth among the lilies. Dutch translation Mijn liefste daalde af in zijn tuin, naar de bedden met welriekende kruiden, om daar zijn kudde te weiden en lelies te plukken.
