French text (modernized) Dessus notre treille de Mai, Chante le coq et le pic et le geai. Près mon ami me rengeai, Sous notre treille de Mai. Du mal d'amours me vengeai; Et sous notre treille de Mai, J'ai le cœur joyeux et gai. Sous notre treille de Mai J'ai laissé deuil et émoi.

English translation The rooster, the woodpecker and the jay sing atop of our May bower. I spread out by my b.f. under our May bower.
