Benedictus is the first word of several texts, often distinguishable by context alone:
- Benedictus qui venit, the second half of the Sanctus
- Benedictus Deus Israel (or Benedictus Dominus Deus Israel), the Canticle of Zechariah, sung at morning prayer.
- Benedictus sit Deus, the Offertory for Trinity
- Benedictus es Domine, an Offertory for Quinquagesima.
- Benedictus redemptor omnium, words to a motet.
They should of course be written in full when linking.
