English translation

1. Whate my God wills must come to pass,
His will is best and righteous;
to those whose faith is fixed and fast
He offers aid that's priceless.

He helps us when we call on Him,
and lovingly corrects us.
But trust in Him, depend on Him,
He never will neglect us.

2. God is hope, my comforter,
my confidence and treasure;
what my God wills is my desire,
I shall oppose it never.

His word is sure, for ev'ry hair
upon my head He numbers.
He guards and keeps, and never sleeps,
His watchful eye ne'er slumbers.

3. I'll gladly leave this earthly life,
as God's will has ordained it,
repair to God, leave earthly strife
knowing that He has planned it.

My soul commits as He sees fit
when my life's breath has faltered.
O righteous Lord, by Your true word
sin, death, and hell are conquered.

4. One more request of You I seek,
and You will not refuse it:
should I against some wrong be weak,
help me to stand against it.

Help, steer, and arm me against harm,
and I will give You praise, then.
Who asks, to him it shall be giv'n.
In joy we sing out, Amen.
