German text
Er sprach zu seinem lieben Sohn :
die Zeit ist hier zu erbarmen,
fahr hin, mein’s Herzens werte Kron
und hilf ihn aus der Sünden Not,
erwürg, für sie den bittern Tod
und lass sie mit dir leben.
French translation
Il dit à son Fils bien-aimé :
le temps est venu d’avoir pitié.
Va, précieuse couronne de mon cœur,
tire-les de la misère du péché,
détruis pour eux la mort amère,
et qu’ils vivent avec toi.
