English text
1.
Come, let us all this day with holy songs be praising;
Tell out the works of God, once more our voices raising.
This day the Holy Ghost heroic hearts has fired,
So let us pray that ours by him may be inspired.
2.
Let him whom God inspires by holy word and Spirit,
To whom is giv'n to share the Saviour's grace and merit.
Unite with us and praise our God for ever true,
Whose mercies are this day and ev'ry morning new.
Translation by John Troutbeck
