Biography

William John de Wolf Leavitt was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and studied in Europe. He returned to the United States and taught in Oneida, New York. He went back to Boston and became a well-known and successful recitalist. He performed more than 800 recitals in the Boston Music Hall. He died in Boston. His compositions include an opera, several operettas, an organ-sonata, organ-pieces, and assorted small works.
