Voi ch'ascoltate in rime sparse 1 il suono
di miei novi sospir ch'escon dal core,
per la memoria di quel cieco errore
che mi fe'n parte altr'uom di quel ch'io sono.

Poiché del vario stil più non ragiono
ma piang'il fallo mio pien di dolore,
il van desir e'l fuggitiv'amore,
pietà prego vi muova al mio perdono.
