Biography
He was apprenticed in 1751 to Thomas Capell, who was organist at Chichester Cathedral from 1744 to 1765. He subsequently worked as an organist in Andover in the 1780s, during which time his two collections of church music were published: subscribers to these works include Chichester Cathedral dignitaries.
