You must dive deep adown with me
To the realm of the coral caves,
If you’d visit the sea-nymph’s home,
In the haunt of the jealous waves,
When the sun’s rays dance above,
On our dolphins’ backs spring we,
And away we glide with the flowing tide,
On the crest of the sparkling sea.

But when Neptune’s in wrath we dive
Down below to our shell-deck’d caves,
Where our revels we gaily hold,
As we laugh at the foam-lash’d waves!
Then with garlands of seaweed gay,
In our bright coral halls dance we,
Till again we speed on our dolphins’ steed
On the crest of the sparkling sea.
