Born: 1487
Died: 1546, or later, possibly even 1586 according to one source
Biography:
Scottish composer, who spent thirty-six years at the Abbey of Scone in Perthshire. His works appear in the Scone Antiphonary, thought to have been used by the Scottish royal chapel. At least one of his works was believed to have been written for and used at the coronation of King James V of Scotland.
Stylistically, his works are viewed as combining the Flemish style with the more florid late-Renaissance British style, except for Missa Pater Creator Omnium which is in fauxbourdon style. His music is said to have similarities to Josquin, Dufay and Isaac.
