Biography

R. R. Chope was educated at Exe­ter Col­lege, Ox­ford, Chope served as cur­ate of Sta­ple­ton (1856); Sher­borne, Dor­set (1858); Up­ton Scu­da­more, Wilt­shire (1859); and Bromp­ton (1861); and vi­car of St. Au­gus­tine’s, Queen’s Gate, South Ken­sing­ton, Lon­don (1865). He was one of the orig­in­at­ors of The Choir and Mu­sic­al Re­cord, and was for some time pro­pri­etor and as­sist­ant ed­it­or of the Li­ter­ary Church­man.
