Psallite cantantes Domino nova cantica gentes;
omnis Ceciliae nomen benedicite tellus,
impia pro Christo quae passa est regna tyranni.
Tu virgo exultans dulcisona dum organa cantant,
psallere non cessas Domino nova cantica semper.
John A. Rice, Motets for Saint Cecilia 1540-1610.(2022) p.XXVI

English.png English translation

Sing to the Lord, singers, new songs;
may the whole world bless the name of Cecilia,
who suffered for Christ in a tyrant's wicked kingdom.
May you, virgin, rejoicing while the sweet-sounding organ sings,
never stop singing new songs to the Lord.
