Let us up and away
On this beautiful day,
To the distant woodlands repairing,

Let us roam glad and free,
As the bird or the bee,
While nature’s wild loveliness sharing;

Leave our cares all behind,
Give our fears to the wind,
Nor harbor one feeling of sadness,

But gather sweet flowers
Through the long sunny hours,
Fill our hearts with its fragrance and gladness.

Then away, then away,
Do not longer delay,
The morning’s bright sunshine is flashing,

And the wood voices free
Come to you and to me,
A chorus of welcome greeting.
