Io vo cercando, ò belle Donne, ‘l core,
S’egli è tra voi, non me lo negate,
Chi me l’ha tolto, il dica per pietade.

Eccoti il cor’, ò tu che ‘l vai cercando,
Hor su non più sospir, non più gridare,
Vien qui, che per pietà te’l vo donare.

German translation

Ich bin auf der Suche, oh schöne Damen, nach meinem Herz,
wenn es bei euch ist, leugnet es nicht,
die es mir genommen hat, soll es sagen, aus Barmherzigkeit.

Hier ist das Herz, oh du, der du es suchst,
Wohlan denn, seufze und klage nicht länger,
komm her, ich will es dir aus Barmherzigkeit geben.

I’m searching for my heart, oh beautiful ladies,
if it is among you, don’t deny it,
she who has taken it shall tell me, for pity’s sake.
