Latin text Improperium expectavit cor meum et miseriam et sustinui qui simul mecum contristaretur et non fuit; a consolantem me quæsivi et non inveni. b et qui consolaretur et non inveni. et dederunt in escam meam fel, et in siti mea potaverunt me aceto.

English translation My heart expected reproach and misery and I desired one who would grieve with me and there was none: a I sought one to console me, and I found none: b and one who would console me, and I found none: and they gave me gall as my food, and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.

French translation Mon cœur supporta l'injure et la souffrance. Je cherchai quelqu'un qui s’attristerait avec moi, mais en vain : a  un consolateur, et je n'en trouvais pas. b  et quelqu'un mi me consolerait, et je n'en trouvais pas. Ils me donnèrent du fiel comme nourriture et dans ma soif, ils m'abreuvèrent de vinaigre.

Czech translation Mé srdce očekávalo nářek a bídu, toužil jsem po někom, kdo by se mnou sdílel smutek, a nebylo ho, hledal jsem, kdo by mě utěšil, a nenalezl.

German translation Mein Herz erwartete Schimpf und Elend, ich wartete, ob jemand Mitleid habe, aber da war niemand, a und auf Tröster, aber ich fand keine. b und ob jemand mich tröste, aber ich fand keinen. Sie gaben mir Galle zu essen und Essig zu trinken für meinen Durst.
