High in the summer sky,
See the white clouds sailing by;
And look, far down on the world of green
Is its beauteous shadow seen,
Flitting in its rapid flight so joyfully,
O’er the smiling meadows all so gracefully,
Ever bringing changes
Where so rapidly it ranges,
Over mountain, vale, and waving field so fair.

Light on the mountain’s brow,
See the white clouds resting now;
And look how quickly it flits away,
With the fading beams of day,
Flitting in its rapid flight so joyfully,
O’er the smiling meadows all so gracefully,
Ever bringing changes,
Where so rapidly it ranges,
Over mountain, vale, and waving field so fair.
