Can we add an attestation to the form that the score does not violate the copyright or other rights of any third parties?

Good idea! I suppose the question is whether we should ask for a statement that the submitter does not knowingly violate the copyright or other rights of any third parties.

I would not include the word knowingly, since that changes in a potentially meaningful way the wording our attorney suggested. Let's keep it consistent with the wording on the Upload File page. If you feel strongly that users would be inhibited if the word knowingly wasn't there, let me know and I'll ask our attorney.

I just feel that, without knowingly added, this is putting a "lawyerly" onus on contributors that they might not feel comfortable with, thereby discouraging them from making any contributions that require them to research and to seek legal advice. On the other hand, if our legal counsel strongly advises against including the extra word, then I'm okay with it.

Yes/No reversed in "Add Choral Work" #3?
Hi, everyone! I am thinking about revising an existing CPDL score to fix errors and improve formatting. When I follow the very nice intructions under #Add Choral Work, I suspect the "yes" and "no" lines are matched to the opposite links. Also, the text makes it sound like it points to two forms, but both options point to the same form Add Work/Edition. The text now reads:
- 3. Is the choral work by this composer already listed on CPDL?
-
I think this should read:
- 3. Is the choral work by this composer already listed on CPDL?
-
I'm new here, so I want to double-check that I'm understanding correctly before I make the change. Thank you! JimDeLaHunt 00:01, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

You're quite right. I've made the modification (help pages are locked so only people with admin rights can edit them). Thanks for catching that, Jim!
