Biography

Frank Garnsey Cauffman was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He originally intended to become a mechanical engineer and entered the Southwark Foundry. He became an architect and is known to have designed a number of homes in Germantown. His talent as a baritone soloist and passion for music motivated him to pursue a career as a musician and he toured with a number of opera companies. He was active as a teacher and leader, organizing the chorus performances at the Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia. He composed a small number of small works. He died in Philadelphia.
