English text
Faint fires are trembling in the sky,
Night’s sable plumes go nodding by,
Those faint fires leap and burn the skies,
The stars sink out, the round moon dies.
Great glory dwells in every place.
For Dawn lifts up her radiant face,
And all the world is quickened by
The gliding wonders of the sky.
Climb up in the sky O burning sun,
Float on till time and space be one!
And may ten thousand dawns like this
Be mine ere Death has claimed me his.
