Born: 24 July 1958

Biography

Born in Rochester, New York, David Evan Thomas studied at Northwestern University, the Eastman School, and with Dominick Argento at the University of Minnesota. His work has been commissioned by the Minnesota Orchestra and Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, honored by the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and published by Opus Imprints, ECS, Augsburg Fortress and MorningStar. Thomas was the first composer-in-residence for The Schubert Club and in 2016 he received the organization’s “An die Musik Award.” In 2018 Thomas was initiated into S.A.I. Fraternity as a National Arts Associate. Thomas lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA.
