Dal suo dorato albergo
Ne mai piu lieta uscia la vaga aurora,
Ne mai piu in gremb'a Flora,
Piu riche gemm'offerse
Ne piu bei fiori apperse.
Quando cantò Filen a piè d'un monte
Ove porgea un sacro e vivo fonte.

Clorinda egli dicea:
Quando tu fossi bella, è al par crudele
Con tragiche querele,
Del mio pianto satolle.
Già udir gl'Euganei colli,
Ma del tuo orgoglio altier dati pur vanto;
Ch'à te non piu m'al mio bel font'io canto.
