Italian text A che affliggi el tuo servo alma gentile   Fatu per che di te me vedi indegno   Indegno son ma apresso te fia vile   Tu fai trovar non ne potresti   Un degno fe dio volesse seguitar tal stile   Nessum acceptaria dentro al suo regno   Ama chi t'ama e non argento e oro   Che pochi hanno fe molti thesoro.

English translation Why do you afflict your servant, gentle soul? Why do you count me unworthy of you? I am worthy, while I seem vile to you. Look as you may You could not find one more worthy. God wants you to follow this rule to accept you within his kingdom: Love those who love you and not silver or gold. What few have makes great treasures.
