Biography

Albion Percy Alderson was born at Newcastle-on-Tyne, England, son of organist and composer Thomas Albion Alderson (1843–1902). He first studied with his father, and received training at Durham Cathedral, the Royal College of Music, and Durham University. He was organist and choirmaster of All Saints’ Church and conductor of the choral and madrigal society in Kingston-on-Thames. He was examiner in music Durham University and travelled to Canada, Australia, and Ceylon as examiner Royal Academy of Music and Royal College of Music. He died in Kingston-on-Thames. His compositions include service music, anthems, organ pieces, songs, and part-songs.
