It was also given a different arrangement for three parts by Joseph Funk as above. William Walker's 1835 arrangement for three parts, called Bruce's Address was included in The Sacred Harp, p. 152, from 1844 through 1911. It was also arranged by William Hauser in The Hesperian Harp, 1848. Words by an anonymous author, in Andrew Broaddus' Dover Selection of Spiritual Songs, 1828, with four stanzas; this text is similar in its first line to Soldiers of the cross, arise / Lo, your leader from the skies, the text given with this tune by Dutton in 1830, written by Jared Waterbury.
