Description: This famous motet, composed in 1861, is Bruckner's second setting of the "Ave Maria". In 1856 Bruckner composed an earlier setting (Ave Maria, WAB 5, for mixed choir, soprano and alto soloists, organ and violoncello) and in 1881 he composed a third setting (Ave Maria, WAB 7, for alto soloist and organ).
