Purcell: In vain, the am'rous flute

http://www.drdrbill.com/downloads/music/Purcell/Orpheus/Flute/Flute.pdf

The pointer for the network file (PDF and MIDI available) points to Dr. Dr. Bill's files on the web.

Inside the works page only one work is listed - and it's to a different edition.

Anybody know why this might be the way it is ? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Johnhenryfowler (talkcontribs) on 09:49, 19 March 2008.

I'm not quite sure what you're getting at here, John. There are two editions on the works page... --Bobnotts talk 07:54, 19 March 2008 (PDT)

Looks ok now. Johnhenryfowler 12:06, 20 March 2008 (PDT)

Reorganisation

I was thinking of reorganising this page so that it lists Purcell's works by the Zimmerman catalogue as noted here. I would begin this process after all the score pages had the new composer template applied to them so that a separate alphabetical list could be made available. What do people think about that? --Bobnotts talk 00:05, 7 June 2008 (PDT)

It could just be a sortable list: then we could look up by scoring, Psalm number, Purcell Society volume &c. I've started something like this as a sandbox page. Anyone should feel free to pitch in! Richard Mix 19:18, 23 January 2012 (CST)
Hi Richard, you're doing a great work with that sortable table! I'd suggest to save it to a separate location instead of in the composer's page, so as not to change too radically the standard composer page layout. I was thinking in a title such as Henry Purcell - list of works, in line with those already available at Category:Music catalogues. What do you think? —Carlos Email.gif 22:38, 23 January 2012 (CST)
Hi, and thanks for pointing out Category:Music catalogues! Besides an interest in this repertoire, part of my motivation is that I think our 'standard' composer page layout could use a little competition (do Brahms and Mendelssohn really need three separate pages? or maybe a fourth by incipit? Bob has tagged one of these for merging.), but I'm in agreement that sudden radical changes might take getting used to. Maybe my next step will be to create Category:Sortable worklists ;-) but for now my far more modest goal is to move some proofread work to Henry Purcell - sortable list of anthems. The former category "Music Catalogues" has now been merged into one or both of two (partially overlapping) categories: Chronological lists and Composer works lists. — Barry Johnston (talk) 19:33, 8 April 2019 (UTC)
