Franz Liszt wrote three distinct settings of the Lord's Prayer, each with revisions (dates are those of publication):
- Pater noster, S. 21 (Franz Liszt) in Latin TTBB organ ad lib. 1846; rev. with organ accompaniment S. 21/2 1853 (based on the piano piece Pater noster (d'apres la Psalmodie de l'Eglise), No. 6 of Harmonies poétiques et réligieuses, S.172a)
- Pater noster, S. 29 (Franz Liszt) in German, SSATTBB & organ 1864; in Latin as No. 7 of Christus, S. 3 1872
- Pater noster, S. 41 (Franz Liszt) in Latin, SATB 1871 S. 41/1; for TTBB 1936 S.41/2
In the Breitkopf & Härtel Werke at the Petrucci Music Library (IMSLP) these somewhat confusingly are labeled Pater noster I (S. 29), Pater noster II (S. 21) and Pater noster III (S. 41).
