First published: 1828 This setting appears in Book 1 of Thomas Clark's The Congregational Harmonist, the preface of which is dated 'Canterbury, Dec. 1, 1828'. This setting is attributed 'T. Clark' and is marked with a crossed circle, a symbol used in The Congregational Harmonist to indicate 'originals' (i.e. tunes not previously published)
Description: The same text was also set by Clark to three other tunes: 'Lime', in A Third Set of Psalm and Hymn Tunes, London: [1807]; 'Melody', in A Fifth Set of Psalm Tunes, London: [c1809]; and 'Wigton', in A Ninth Set of Psalm and Hymn Tunes, London: [c1818].
